It seems Self-Talk only goes quiet for a few hours when we sleep.
All day long, if you listen for it, you will hear judgement, directions, instructions, analysis and comparison.
Most of the time we are not aware of Self-Talk pushing us in one direction or the other.
As a matter of fact we quite like it because we feel like we know what we are doing.
Providing a feeling of certainty in our day to day living is one of Self-Talk’s biggest assets.
If it can make us feel like things are under control we go with it.
Take the test and see if you can hear what Self-Talk is saying.
Then see if the other part of you called Authentic agrees with the plan.
This requires some attention in the moment.
Then you need to be aware of the choices you have other than what Self-Talk is giving you.
This requires paying attention to Authentic and asking for what you really need and want.
The fun part is realizing you don’t have to go along with what Self-Talk is saying all the time.
Authentic, the part of you that really knows also provides you with guidance.
Just pay attention and listen.
This is who you are.
