They say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. We are like our parents whether we like it or not and whether we know it or not.
Some of us have worked tirelessly over the years not to be like them. We had taken in information and education from them, they were our first teachers. Without knowing, a few years later we behaved according to the rules, we understood how the family worked and went about doing our life as though we knew who we were.
Now, we all know that is not true. Carl Jung said, “Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.”
The vision I think Carl was referring to was our authenticity.
As we grow into adulthood there is a pull to more deeply understand who we are and what we stand for.
However, the rules of the family have also flooded our corporations so we act according to the rules as best we know them.
Now is your time with all your awareness to open the door to your heart as suggested by Jung and be clear about who you are.
We have some fear if we take this path we will not be loved.
Let those who would not love us as our authentic self walk their own path.
It is not worth the price we pay any longer not to live as authentically as we know how.
There is a lot to learn along the way.
However, when you are in touch with the voice of your heart you will be guided as to how to cherish your authentic self.
It’s worth it.
You owe it to yourself because the authentic you is so beautiful and whole.
This is who you are.
